Allen Girls Adventures Grade 4 is a story-based learning path for 4th graders (ages 9–10). Students practice multi-digit multiplication, fraction equivalence, deeper reading comprehension, science, and social studies inside adventures — 19 modules and 95 lessons (4 math, 5 reading, 4 science, 6 social studies) within the platform's 77-module, 385-lesson curriculum aligned to Common Core and state standards.
Fourth grade is the year math gets serious and reading gets deep. It's also the year many kids decide they're "not a math person." We built the antidote.
What Math Does a 4th Grader Learn?
A fourth grader learns multi-digit multiplication, division with remainders, fraction equivalence and comparison, adding and subtracting fractions with like denominators, decimal notation to hundredths, and multi-step word problems. Fourth grade also introduces factors, multiples, and early geometry with angles and symmetry, spread across 19 modules built into adventure missions.

Grade 4 Math Modules
Aligned to the official Common Core Mathematics domains (M4.1 is omitted in our Grade 4 spine). Each module ends in a Gateway Challenge kids must clear to advance.
M4.2 — Number & Operations in Base Ten
Multi-digit place value to one million, rounding to any place, adding/subtracting with the standard algorithm, up to 4-digit by 1-digit multiplication, and division with remainders.
M4.3 — Number & Operations—Fractions
Fraction equivalence with visual models, compared denominators, adding/subtracting like fractions, multiplying a fraction by a whole number, and decimal notation up to hundredths (0.62 = 62/100).
M4.4 — Measurement & Data
Customary/metric unit conversions, area/perimeter formulas for rectangles, creating line plots with fractional measurements (1/2, 1/4, 1/8), and measuring angles with protractors.
M4.5 — Geometry
Geometric points, lines, segments, rays, parallel and perpendicular pairs, shape classification, and reflective symmetry.

Every adventure ends in real writing — opinion/argument, informative, and narrative pieces that kids plan, revise, and research. In-game focus: Opinion, informative, and narrative writing with grouped reasons and evidence; note-taking and citing sources.

Kids talk, listen, and present — collaborative discussion, weighing what speakers claim, and sharing findings with multimedia. In-game focus: Paraphrasing what's heard, spotting a speaker's reasons and evidence, and presenting in an organized way.
