Allen Girls Adventures Grade 5 is a story-based learning path for 5th graders (ages 10–11). Students practice operations with fractions and decimals, volume, the coordinate plane, evidence-based reading, science, and social studies — 19 modules and 95 lessons (5 math, 5 reading, 4 science, 5 social studies) within the platform's 77-module, 385-lesson curriculum aligned to Common Core and state standards.

What Does a 5th Grader Learn in Reading?
In fifth grade reading, a student quotes accurately from a text when explaining it and drawing inferences, determines a theme and summarizes without personal opinions, compares stories and their structures, and analyzes how a narrator's point of view shapes events. Fifth graders read closely enough to support conclusions with specific textual evidence.

Every adventure ends in real writing — opinion/argument, informative, and narrative pieces that kids plan, revise, and research. In-game focus: Logically ordered opinion and explanatory writing, multi-source research, and paraphrasing evidence from texts.

A 5th Grade Week With AGA
25–30 minutes a day, 3–5 days a week. One mission arc typically spans a week: learn the skill inside the story, practice it with S.P.A.R.K.'s support, then apply it to beat the challenge. Spiral review brings old skills back in new worlds so nothing fades before middle school.

What should a 5th grader know in math?
By the end of 5th grade, most state standards expect students to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions; multiply multi-digit whole numbers fluently and divide with two-digit divisors; read, compare, and operate on decimals to the thousandths; find the volume of solid figures; graph points on the coordinate plane; and use order of operations. Fifth grade is the year math becomes genuinely abstract — the last on-ramp before middle school.
