Allen Girls Adventures Grade 6 is a story-based learning path for 6th graders (ages 11–12). Students practice ratios and unit rates, negative numbers, expressions and equations, evidence-based writing, science, and social studies — 19 modules and 95 lessons (5 math, 5 reading, 4 science, 5 social studies) within the platform's 77-module, 385-lesson curriculum aligned to Common Core and state standards.
Sixth grade is the first year of middle school — pre-algebra, argument writing, and lab science all arrive at once. It's a lot. We make it feel like a quest instead of a leap.
What Math Skills Does 6th Grade Cover?
Sixth grade math covers ratios and unit rates, dividing fractions by fractions, the full number system including negative numbers, writing and solving one-variable expressions and equations, area, surface area, and volume, and analyzing statistical data. Sixth grade is the true start of pre-algebra, spread across 19 modules inside adventure missions.

Part-to-part and part-to-whole ratio relationships, unit pricing, percents as rates per 100, and coordinate ratio graphing.
M6.2 — The Number System
Dividing fractions by fractions, dividing multi-digits, positive/negative integers on a coordinate plane spanning all four quadrants, and absolute value as distance.

Algebraic expressions with variables, equivalent factoring (combining like terms), solving one-variable equations/inequalities, and analyzing independent vs. dependent variables.

Every adventure ends in real writing — opinion/argument, informative, and narrative pieces that kids plan, revise, and research. In-game focus: Building evidence-based arguments, credible multi-source research, and citing sources to avoid plagiarism.
